You hear so many horror stories about repair people, how they take advantage of you, but every once in a while, you come across somebody who is GREAT!! Somebody who is honest and nice enough to help you out. The water feature in our refrigerator wouldn’t work. But Larry, whom we didn’t know from Adam was decent enough, and kind and honest to tell us how to fix it which we did in 4 minutes. Somebody else, we fear, would have come and charged us a lot of money to repair it and times right now are tough. But this wonderful man was terrific enough to help us as we just explained. *** You can bet that our friends, our family, ourselves, if we ever need anybody for refrigerator or any other service he provides, without a second thought we would call him. Abel Appliance Repair, The company that Larry built! Incredible service! Punctual, polite, and professional!
I first called Larry back in the fall of '09 when my bottom-of-the-line"Performa" refrigerator by Maytag quit cooling.
We called Larry about 8:00 in the morning. He found time to come by right after lunch that same day. He troubleshot, advised me, and repaired the problem within 90 minutes. I was simply amazed.
Larry advised me that a hot start kit installed in my unit would fix it for now, but the compressor would fail. He said it could be three months to a year. He gave me a VERY reasonable price and told me that if the compressor did fail that he would reduce the cost of that repair by the amount I paid him for this one! Who does that?
The compressor did fail a year and a half later. I called Larry, he remembered repairing my refrigerator back on '09 and told me that he would have to get a new compressor. He had the part the next day. He managed to squeeze me in to a very busy schedule and get my repair done quickly. He is happy when he works and has a wonderful sense of humor! When he was done, he gave us the bill and it was exactly what he quoted minus the cost of the first repair! I couldn't believe he honored that a year and a half later.
Larry is a consummate professional. When I described him to my dad, his comment was, "He's a good business man!" He is, indeed. I recommend Abel Appliance Repair and Larry Garner to anyone who needs an appliance repaired. He won't steer you wrong!

I called Larry at Abel Appliance Repair at halftime of the Super Bowl expecting to leave a message on an answering machine. Who’s going to answer their phone during the Super Bowl, I thought. Larry does, that’s who! He took time to tell me what was probably wrong with my 10 year old Whirlpool refrigerator. He told me he could come by the next day around 2pm. The doorbell rings at exactly 1:50 (how many repair people are ever early?) and Larry was 100% right with his phone assessment. He fixes my fridge and was gone within 30 minutes. I highly recommend Larry / Abel Appliance Repair. He’s an honest guy that will give you a straight answer about your
appliances.

Thank you so much for helping and on time. Those other guys said they would be here and never showed. I took off work and I guess their time is more important than mine. You took care of my problem in a short amount of the call and I did not have to take more time off. I called Abel Appliance repair right at the start of the business on a Tuesday and left a message. My call was returned within 2 minutes. I described the problem I was having with my dishwasher to Larry. He proceeded to ask me a few questions and then explained that the issue I was having was one of two problems. He then quickly determined that I was relatively handy with a screwdriver and proceeded to explain how to fix the problem myself. I offered to pay him for his time and advice and he graciously declined. I assure you that in the future, when I have an appliance problem that I am unable to fix, the only company I'm calling will be Abel Appliance Repair.

I was having trouble with my washing machine and called this company to arrange a service call. When I told him the maker of the washing machine, he advised that it would be better to purchase a new washer than try to get this one fixed. I was on the wire of even calling to see if it could be fixed and so appreciated his honesty to tell me it wasn't worth it than to come to my house, charge me a service call and then tell me the same thing he did over the phone. This is an honest company and I can trust from now on out to fix all my appliances and I recommend him to others. No lying, no cheating, just honest reliable is what I personally feel about this company.

I was having a refrigerator issue on a Sunday evening. I called Abel Appliance and left a message. Less than an hour later, Larry returned my message and instructed me to take the back off my frig. On doing that, I discovered the fan was not turning. I pushed it and it began to move. Larry said I just repaired my refrigerator. Larry's experience helped me within a few minutes to get my refrigerator cooling again. I will be referring Abel Appliance Repair to anyone that has a problem. I contacted Abel a couple of days ago about a refrigerator/freezer (r/f) problem on the old unit we keep in the garage. I did so because they had done work for us several times before. Larry called back and discussed the potential causes and related repair costs. He gave me clear instructions how to open the freezer compartment to describe the conditions I saw. Subsequently, we discussed the costs of repair versus the value of the 21 year old r/f. He consulted with me for at least 30 thirty minutes on the phone at no charge. Although he could have had my repair business, he recommended that I replace the unit rather than paying him to repair it. I value his candor and integrity. I called Larry late in the afternoon about my refrigerator that was not cooling and he stopped by that night! I was told by several different companies that I may need a new motherboard for my GE Refrigerator(LOTS OF $). Larry came out and said that NO I did not need a new motherboard and did some minor repairs. I think Larry is a very honest vendor/person and plain on using him in the future and will recommend him to my friends and family

Having owned a 6-man Handy Man service in the past, I know how important customer service is to the life of a home service company. Abel Appliance Repair hit's it on the bulls eye! When I called to schedule an appointment, it was Larry who answered the phone. He was professional, courteous and took his time explaining our options. I felt as if it was my brother helping me. Well, After calling several repair services and receiving new answer or being put on hold, I called Larry last week (5/6/09). My washing machine was broken. The machine wouldn't drain the wash water. Larry answered right the call right away. He arrived at my apartment within 45 minutes, just as he said he would. He had the problem fixed in minutes. The price was also very reasonable. I would definatly call Larry again with any appliance repair needs and I would highly recommend him to others. 5 Star service! Thanks again!

Exceptional Service
This company is wonderful!!! First rate service all the way!!! Larry was able to fit me into his busy schedule and come the same day I called since the problem I had was a broken washing machine. And I really needed to wash several loads of laundry - work clothes for my husband. It took Larry no time at all to figure out the problem and fix it even though the night before my husband did try to fix the washing machine first - so it was already in pieces. Thank you, Larry and A Professional Appliance Service - I will be using only you and your exceptional company for my next appliance repair and passing your name to all my family and friends.

Wouldn't use anyone else!
After reading previous comments, I decided that someone who cared enough about his reputation to write a response to customers' reviews was worth a phone call. Well, I was absolutely right! I had a terrific experience with Larry. He got to my home when he told me he would, he explained what was wrong with my washing machine and what my options were and he fixed it fast! On top of everything his price was very reasonable without phantom fees or anything like that and he was incredibly pleasant! I would recommend Larry to anyone!

pissed off!
This guy Larry answered my call and when I asked him a question he hung up in my face. I called a second time to see if he was for real and he said if i'm asking a price quote without service i'm wasting his time. This was the worst service I have ever seen in my life. Don't try these guys at all.

In response to the upset customer I would like to offer an explanation of his comments about me and my company. First off it is ALWAYS my policy to give good and honest customer service and I feel that most of my customers would agree. What this customer failed to say is, he called me 4 times within a 30 minute time frame. I was in a home installing a refrigerator compressor when I got his first call. He asked his questions I answered him in a professional manner, we hung up. In a few minutes he called back asking me the same questions and I asked him, "Aren't you the person that just called about 10-15 min ago?" He said oh sorry didn't know I redialed your number. Ok, fine and good, hung up the 2nd time with him. In about 15 minutes HE calls again, starting in with "How much is it going to cost for this, this, & this????" I said for the 3rd time Sir I just spoke to you and gave you the price and told you what it would be, do you need my phone # again because if you're shopping prices that is fine, but you've now called me 3 times, once again we say our good-byes and hang up. I start in on my customer's refrigerator and would you believe my phone rings again and looking at my caller ID I see it is this same man calling me for the 4th time! When I answered I did tell him, please if you want me to schedule an appt. for you I will. I've given you pricing of your job, I've given you free counsultation of your appliance needs, now after 4 phone calls within a 30 to 45 minute time frame PLEASE do not call me again UNLESS you want our service. Now, that is the story and for the public looking at these reviews I hope you will take my explanation into consideration and always feel free into calling me. I called Larry late in the evening about my electric range. He answered all of my questions and when he arrived at my home his professionalism was beyond compare. He fixed my appliance within one hour, cleaned up nicely and my bill was very resonable. He was excellent, best home repair man I have seen in many years. Our 6 year old Kenmore side by side refrigerator was not cooling or freezing this morning.
I called Sears 1st only to find out they would not be able to respond until 2 days later, I looked up Emeregency appliance repair in Frisco, Tx, found Abel Appliance repair and called them.
Larry Garner was at our house in less than 1 hour, had the refrigerator repaired and was gone in 30 minutes.
The service was excellent, the cost was reasonable and I will recommend Abel Appliance Repair to all of my neighbors.

I don't usually "mass mail" recommendations but I am soooo impressed that I just had to share.
I often get calls or emails asking if I know a good "service guy" for just about anything that could need repair. We often feel better getting a recommendation from a friend than just "point and pick" from the phone book. That said, I'd like to share a short story:
The water dispensor on the door of our refrigerator ceased to work. I called a number I had "picked" from our phone book. When I did that, the string of superior service began.
1. A real live technician answered my call (after 5:00 PM)
2. He agreed to stop by between 11:00 and 12:00 the next day (not a 4-5 hour window like I usually get)
3. He was on time,
4. He was personable, knowledgable and professional.
5. He analyzed the problem - had the part on his truck - and fixed the refrigerator in about 30 minutes.
6. His charge was - to say the least - rreasonable.
These things alone can't convey my satisfaction with the visit and on top of that, I know who I will call for ALL my appliance repair needs going forward.

I have to take a minute and write about the fantastic service that I received from Larry on my refrigerators. He was very professional, polite, and showed up exactly when he said he would. He diagnosed and fixed the first refrigerator and while doing that, told me what the problem was with the second one and even helped me fix it for no additional charge. He even showed me a way to prevent the problem from recurring. I was amazed. In this day and age, I have not met another repairman who provides this level of service and is so committed to doing a quality job, let alone going above and beyond to help you out. If that wasn't enough, while he was here he noticed that the AC had gone out in the house and I asked him if he knew any AC repairmen. Well, he loked at the unit for me and told me what the problem was, even though he no longer repairs AC units. Turns out,it was the same part that had been replaced in May, and he encouraged me to call the other service company and see if it was still under warranty. I would highly recommend Larry for any appliance repair that you need, you will not find any better service than his.

Just want to say THANK YOU LARRY for your quick response to my dilemma on Oct 2nd, 2010. I was having a party at my home when I noticed water coming out from under the refrigerator. I immediately panicked as the frig wasn't making any ice and wasn't cooling properly but had water dripping out all over the kitchen floor. I called Abel Appliance repair late Saturday night. Larry came to our house on Sunday to repair my ice maker. He showed up as promised. He had the replacement part. His pricing was very fair. It is nice to deal with an honest, straightforward, and knowledgeable person. I will certainly call on him again and recommend him to my friends, coworkers, and family.
I just want to again thank you for servicing my ice maker. It now works perfectly.

My refrigerator stopped working in the middle of the night when I woke up the next morning I walked in the kitchen to find a flood of melted ice and ice cream along with everything else, everything in my fridge was warm, in a panic I called GE to make a long story short after waiting on the phone forever and after having to go over and over what the problem was, model numbers, serial numbers she told me that it would be a $90.00 charge just to come to the house, and that they wouldn't be able to get to me until the next day! The next day what good does that do me I asked her, I told her that I was going to call someone else, then she said that she would call dispatch and see if they could get me in any sooner, so while I was waiting for her I started looking up repairmen online and came a crossed Larrys web site, I called him(7:00AM) in a panic and told him my troubles and he knew right away what he thought the problem could be, he got my name and address and said that he would call me back, which he did, he came to my house and fixed my refrigerator, he even had the part I needed, and he even cleaned off the dust off the top of the frig, the whole visit took about 15 mins as he was finishing up GE called and said that they could fit me in but it could be any where from 11:00-5:00 I told them forget it the frig is already fixed, I would NEVER NEVER call GE or anyone else for any repair, Larry will be my repair man totally trustworthy and honest, and I'm not kidding he saved the day. With all the Thanksgiving festivities this week, I have neglected to write and thank you as well. I am so grateful to you for coming to fix my fridge on such short notice. With a turkey and Thanksgiving goodies already bought, you can imagine I was a bit panicked. :) I am so glad to have found you and that you could help. The fridge is working fine now! I called Abel Appliance Repair this morning for the second time in the past two months. My washing machine had broken in November; the tub would fill with water and wash clothes, but would not drain. Larry came out the same day and fixed the issue in a matter of minutes, all for the price of a service call. So, when our refrigerator/freezer stopped circulating cold air this weekend, I called Larry again. He was at our house less than 2 hours later, and the issue was fixed within the hour.
